I was tasked with making a 15-second lyric video reel that would be posted to Instagram or any other video reel platform. The song choice I decided to go with was Alien boy by Oliver tree. My inspiration came from the 90’s retro aesthetic and old arcade carpets to create the design for the animation. First, I used animated textures to create depth and movement while incorporating small shapes and floating pieces to create constant motion throughout the video. This allowed me to keep a consistent theme throughout the reel. Finally, I added cinema 4D elements to create the planets and cassette tape in 3D. I then added cell shading to make it fit with the 2D style in the animation.
